We are seeking a talented and passionate Commi specializing in South Indian Cuisine to join our culinary team in Mysuru India. As a Commi you will play a crucial role in preparing authentic South Indian dishes while supporting our kitchen operations.
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of South Indian dishes under the guidance of senior chefs
- Ensure the quality and consistency of food items according to established recipes and standards
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations
- Properly store and rotate ingredients to minimize waste and maintain freshness
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service hours
- Assist in menu development and the creation of new South Indian dishes
- Participate in regular kitchen meetings and training sessions to enhance culinary skills
- Support inventory management by reporting low stock levels and assisting with ordering when needed
Qualifications :
- Proven experience as a Commis Chef or in a similar role preferably with a focus on South Indian cuisine
- Strong knowledge of South Indian cooking techniques ingredients and spices
- Excellent knife skills and ability to work efficiently in a fastpaced kitchen environment
- Thorough understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and maintain consistency in food preparation
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Team player with excellent communication abilities
- Culinary degree or diploma preferred
- Food safety certification required
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items when necessary
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays
