Job Description
Job Title: Business Head South
Location: Hyderabad
Job Summary
We are seeking a visionary and dynamic Business Head to lead and drive
the operations content syndication and strategic growth of our film
production house in the South Indian market. The ideal candidate will
have a deep understanding of the South Indian film industry exceptional
leadership skills and a strong network of relationships within the film
fraternity.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute longterm business
strategies to position the production house as a leader in the South
Indian film industry.
Content Development: Identify and greenlight commercially viable
film projects collaborating with directors producers and writers
to ensure creative and market alignment.
Content Syndication: Lead efforts to syndicate films and related
content across multiple platforms including OTT satellite
channels international markets and other digital distribution
channels.
Revenue Generation: Spearhead business development efforts to secure
funding coproduction deals and distribution partnerships across
platforms (theatrical OTT satellite etc.).
Market Expansion: Explore opportunities to expand the brands
presence in emerging markets both within India and internationally.
Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with
directors actors distributors studios and other key stakeholders
in the South Indian film industry.
Team Leadership: Lead and mentor teams across production marketing
distribution and finance fostering a culture of creativity
collaboration and accountability.
Profitability Oversight: Manage budgets P&L statements and cost
control measures to ensure financial viability and profitability of
all projects.
Trend Analysis: Stay updated on industry trends audience
preferences and emerging technologies to inform business decisions
and strategies.
Marketing & Promotions: Oversee the development of innovative
marketing and promotional campaigns to maximize film visibility and
box office success.
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of the South Indian film industry including
regional preferences and trends.
Indepth knowledge of content syndication processes and revenue
opportunities across OTT satellite and international markets.
Proven leadership experience with a track record of successfully
leading film production or entertainment businesses.
Excellent negotiation and networking skills.
Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on innovation and strategic
growth.
Exceptional financial acumen and ability to manage largescale
budgets.
Creative thinking and problemsolving capabilities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with
diverse stakeholders.
Qualifications
Bachelors/Masters degree in Business Administration Media
Management or a related field.
10 years of experience in senior leadership roles within the film
or entertainment industry.
Proven experience in managing largescale film productions or
related projects.
Experience in content syndication and digital distribution is a
must.
A strong network of contacts within the South Indian film industry.
Fluency in one or more South Indian languages (e.g. Tamil Telugu
Kannada Malayalam) is highly preferred.
