We are seeking a Governance Lead Engineer to support a financial institution in establishing and enforcing IT governance frameworks ensuring alignment with business goals policies and regulatory standards. This is a remote role initially contracted for 6 months with the potential for extension or conversion to a fulltime position.

Job Summary:
The Governance Lead Engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining IT governance frameworks ensuring that technology initiatives comply with organizational policies and regulatory requirements. You will collaborate with senior management to mitigate risks support compliance efforts and drive governance excellence in alignment with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop implement and maintain robust IT governance frameworks policies and standards to align technology initiatives with business goals and regulatory mandates.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements industry standards and internal policies through comprehensive governance practices.
• Conduct regular audits reviews and assessments to monitor compliance with established governance frameworks and identify areas for improvement.
• Provide expert guidance to IT teams on governancerelated challenges ensuring effective risk management and compliance.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure IT governance practices support business objectives and drive strategic decisionmaking.
• Manage the IT governance committee facilitating meetings preparing reports and addressing governance matters.
• Report on governance performance risks and compliance issues to senior management providing actionable insights for continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

• Deep understanding of IT governance frameworks such as COBIT ITIL and ISO/IEC 27001 with demonstrated experience in developing and implementing governance practices.
• Proven experience in regulatory compliance risk management and IT audit particularly within the financial services industry.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage complex governance and compliance issues.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with experience presenting governance matters to senior leadership.
• Familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) tools and processes.
• Bachelors degree in Information Technology Business Administration or a related field; advanced certifications in governance frameworks (e.g. COBIT ITIL) are preferred.
• Prior experience working within the financial services industry or consulting environment is highly desirable.
