Job Description

Job Summary:

The company an industry leader in precision forging and aerospace manufacturing is seeking a reliable and skilled Press Operator to join our team in Gardena CA. The Press Operator will be responsible for operating and maintaining forging press machines to produce highquality metal components. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude attention to detail and a commitment to safety and quality in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate hydraulic and mechanical presses to form and shape metal components according to production specifications.
  • Read and interpret work orders blueprints and technical drawings to determine the correct press settings and tooling requirements.
  • Monitor machine operation to ensure accurate production and adjust settings as necessary for optimal performance.
  • Inspect finished parts using precision measurement tools such as micrometers calipers and gauges to ensure they meet dimensional tolerances and quality standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance on press machines including cleaning lubricating and adjusting parts to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Collaborate with the quality control team to address any issues related to part quality or machine performance.
  • Maintain accurate production records and complete necessary documentation for each job.
  • Troubleshoot machine malfunctions and report any issues to supervisors or maintenance personnel.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area ensuring that tools and materials are properly stored.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience operating press machines in a manufacturing environment preferably in metalworking or forging.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to use precision measurement tools and perform basic math calculations.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under tight tolerances.
  • Strong understanding of safety procedures in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to lift heavy materials and work in a physically demanding environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the aerospace or precision forging industries.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic and mechanical press operations.
  • Forklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment.

Work Environment:

  • Fulltime position in a fastpaced manufacturing setting.
  • Exposure to loud machinery hot materials and heavy equipment.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and required at all times.
