Saw Operator Level 1 - 20 to 22

Job Summary:

The company a global leader in aerospace manufacturing is seeking a motivated and detailoriented Saw Operator Level 1 to join our team in Gardena CA. This entrylevel position will involve operating saw equipment to cut raw materials to specific dimensions as required by production processes. The Saw Operator will be responsible for ensuring precise cuts while maintaining safety and efficiency on the production floor.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate saw machines to cut raw materials including metal bars tubes and plates according to specified dimensions.
• Read and follow work orders blueprints and instructions to determine the correct cutting specifications for each job.
• Inspect raw materials before cutting to ensure they meet the required standards.
• Measure and mark materials for cutting as necessary to ensure accuracy.
• Perform regular quality checks on cut materials using calipers micrometers and other measuring tools to verify dimensions and tolerances.
• Monitor machine operation to detect issues or malfunctions and make necessary adjustments.
• Follow all safety procedures when operating equipment and handling materials ensuring compliance with company and OSHA safety standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area ensuring tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored.
• Assist with machine maintenance and troubleshooting as directed by supervisors.
• Report any material defects or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor immediately.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic mechanical skills and familiarity with saw operation in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
• Ability to read and understand work orders blueprints and technical instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
• Basic math skills including measurement and unit conversion.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
• Ability to stand for long periods lift heavy materials and work in a physically demanding environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a manufacturing or metalworking environment.
• Familiarity with operating saws or other cutting equipment.
• Forklift certification or experience with material handling equipment.

Work Environment:

• Fulltime position in a manufacturing setting.
• Exposure to loud machinery and heavy materials.
• Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and required.
