Bead Blast Operator Level 1 - 20 to 22

Job Summary:

The company a premier aerospace manufacturing company is seeking a dedicated and detailoriented Bead Blast Operator to join our team in Gardena CA. The Bead Blast Operator will be responsible for operating bead blasting equipment to clean finish and prepare metal parts for further processing. This role requires precision attention to detail and a focus on safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate bead blasting equipment to clean and finish metal parts according to work orders and production specifications.
• Load and unload parts into the bead blasting machine ensuring that they are positioned correctly for uniform blasting coverage.
• Inspect parts before and after blasting to ensure that surfaces meet the required finish and quality standards.
• Adjust machine settings as needed to achieve the desired surface finish ensuring adherence to production tolerances.
• Perform routine maintenance on bead blasting equipment such as cleaning and replacing beads to maintain optimal performance.
• Follow safety protocols to protect yourself and others from hazards related to bead blasting operations including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Keep accurate records of production work including parts processed and any issues encountered during the blasting process.
• Assist with other production tasks as needed including cleaning sanding or polishing parts.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area adhering to all housekeeping and safety standards.
• Report any equipment malfunctions part defects or safety concerns to supervisors immediately.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience operating bead blasting or similar surface treatment equipment is a plus.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints work orders and technical documents.
• Basic math skills and ability to measure parts using precision tools like calipers or micrometers.
• Physical ability to lift carry and position parts for blasting and stand for long periods in a physically demanding environment.
• Strong commitment to safety and quality in a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in aerospace or precision manufacturing industries.
• Familiarity with different blasting media and their uses for various materials.
• Forklift certification or experience with material handling equipment.

Work Environment:

• Fulltime position in a manufacturing setting.
• Exposure to dust noise and heavy machinery.
• Personal protective equipment (PPE) including respirators and eye protection will be provided and required.
