As a housekeeping director, you hire and train staff, write schedules, manage inventory of housekeeping supplies, coordinate housekeeping needs for special events and day-to-day operations, and work directly with other housekeeping staff if the team is short-handed or to perform an inspection of the team's work.
A housekeeping manager, or head housekeeper, has overall responsibility for cleaning rooms, laundering bed linen and maintaining furnishings and other equipment in hotels, residential homes, hospitals and student accommodation .
What are the duties of a housekeeping manager?
Responsible for staffing, scheduling, training and developing all staff . Manage the daily activities of the Housekeeping department to include appropriate cleaning of all bedrooms, public areas and offices. To monitor, check and maintain standards of cleanliness within all areas of the hospital on a daily basis.
