JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The team is seeking a Mechanical Engineer at our Vinyl Fluoride production facility located in Louisville, KY. This position is responsible for managing overall mechanical process and utility equipment to safely meet business demands and drive productivity improvements. This role will drive Process Safety Management programs and systems to ensure compliance with corporate standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead mechanical engineer for the Vinyl Fluoride production facility.
Provide technical support required to maintain day-to-day production activities.
Provide guidance to various teams for continuous improvement programs involving mechanical systems and general plant production needs.
Develop and implement improvements projects (cost and capital) to plant mechanical systems that contribute to business and company performance targets.
Monitor product and process performance; assess reliability of operations and implement solutions.
Lead Root Cause Failure Investigations for mechanical and process failures.
Use of Six Sigma methodology to evaluate process and equipment data to identify and drive process improvements.
Work directly with other technical resources in the business to continuously improve mechanical systems across the supply chain assets.
Identify and maintain Process Safety Critical equipment and processes.
Participate in and lead Process Safety Management programs including Incident Investigations and Process Hazards Analysis (PHA).
QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
3+ years of experience in industrial manufacturing involving rotating machinery, piping, and vessels.
Demonstrated strong commitment to continuous improvement.
Solid demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong teamwork and organization skills.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Process Safety Management (PSM) experience.
Experience leading Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA).
Six Sigma Greenbelt certified.
Experience specifying and maintaining rotating equipment.
