We are looking for a qualified and passionate Faculty Member in Pharmacology to teach mentor students and engage in innovative pharmacological research. The successful candidate will have a strong background in pharmacology with expertise in drug mechanisms therapeutic applications and clinical pharmacology. This position will involve both teaching and research with an emphasis on integrating pharmacology into clinical practice.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching & Curriculum Development:
- Deliver highquality lectures seminars and practical sessions on pharmacology including topics such as pharmacodynamics pharmacokinetics clinical pharmacology and drug interactions.
- Develop and update curriculum content to incorporate the latest research findings and clinical pharmacology advances.
- Supervise students during laboratory exercises and small group sessions fostering their understanding of drug mechanisms side effects and clinical uses.
- Assess student performance through exams practicals and other evaluations offering constructive feedback to guide academic progress.
Research:
- Conduct independent and collaborative research in pharmacology focusing on areas such as drug discovery pharmacogenomics drug toxicity or therapeutic applications.
- Publish research findings in peerreviewed journals and present at national and international conferences.
- Mentor graduate students medical residents and research fellows in their research projects promoting critical thinking and scientific inquiry.
Clinical Integration:
- Collaborate with clinical departments to integrate pharmacology with clinical practice enhancing students understanding of drug therapy in patient care.
- Participate in interdisciplinary teaching helping students understand the role of pharmacology in managing diseases and treatment plans.
- Lead discussions on drug safety efficacy and evidencebased medicine in clinical settings.
Student Mentorship & Advising:
- Provide academic and career guidance to medical students advising them on potential career paths in pharmacology or related fields.
- Supervise student research projects and encourage their participation in scientific research fostering a culture of inquiry.
Professional Development & Service:
- Contribute to academic committees and participate in faculty meetings to improve the medical curriculum and faculty governance.
- Engage in professional development through attending conferences workshops and seminars to stay current with developments in pharmacology and medical education.
Requirements
Education: PhD in Pharmacology Pharmaceutical Sciences or a closely related field.
Experience: Proven teaching experience in pharmacology or a related field particularly in a medical or healthcare education setting.
