We are looking for a dynamic and dedicated Faculty Member in Microbiology to teach and mentor medical students lead highquality research and contribute to the continued development of our medical curriculum. The successful candidate will have a strong background in microbiology infectious diseases and clinical microbiology with the ability to bridge the gap between basic science and clinical application.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching & Curriculum Development:
- Deliver engaging lectures seminars and laboratory sessions in microbiology covering topics such as bacteriology virology mycology parasitology immunology and infectious diseases.
- Develop and update curriculum content in microbiology ensuring that it reflects current research emerging infectious diseases and clinical relevance.
- Supervise students in laboratory settings providing handson learning opportunities that enhance their understanding of microbiological concepts and diagnostic techniques.
- Assess student performance through exams practical assessments and other evaluation methods offering constructive feedback.
Research:
- Lead independent and collaborative research projects in microbiology focusing on areas relevant to clinical microbiology infectious diseases or antimicrobial resistance.
- Publish research findings in peerreviewed journals and present at academic conferences.
- Mentor graduate students medical residents and research fellows in their research projects fostering an environment of scientific inquiry and critical thinking.
Clinical Integration:
- Collaborate with clinical departments to integrate microbiological principles with clinical practice enhancing students understanding of infectious diseases in patient care.
- Participate in interdisciplinary teaching and clinical rounds bridging basic microbiology with clinical diagnosis treatment and infection control.
Student Mentorship & Advising:
- Provide academic advising to medical students guiding them in their studies and future career paths in microbiology or related fields.
- Supervise student research projects and encourage participation in scientific research and discovery.
Professional Development & Service:
- Engage in continuous professional development attending conferences workshops and seminars to stay current with the latest advancements in microbiology and medical education.
- Participate in institutional committees and contribute to the ongoing enhancement of the medical curriculum and academic policies.
Requirements
Education: PhD in Microbiology Medical Microbiology or a related field.
Experience: Proven teaching experience in microbiology ideally in a medical or healthcare education context.
- Strong research background with a record of publications in peerreviewed journals.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex microbiological concepts in a clear and engaging manner.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team of educators researchers and clinicians.
