Job Description

Overview

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Med/Surg unit plays a pivotal role in providing highquality patient care to individuals recovering from surgery or managing acute medical conditions.

This position entails working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal clinical outcomes and promote patient safety. The RN will be responsible for comprehensive patient assessments monitoring vital signs administering medications and coordinating care plans tailored to each patients unique needs.

This role requires compassion critical thinking and strong communication skills to effectively support patients and their families during their recovery journey. In addition the nurse will educate patients on postoperative care medication management and healthy lifestyle choices to facilitate a smooth transition back to their everyday lives.

The RNs contribution is vital in creating a nurturing environment that fosters healing and patient empowerment ultimately enhancing the overall quality of care within the healthcare setting.

Required Qualifications

  • Current and valid Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Georgia.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; ADN acceptable with experience.
  • Minimum of 12 years nursing experience in a Med/Surg setting.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fastpaced environment.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Experience in patient education and counseling.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team setting.
  • Strong critical thinking and problemsolving abilities.
  • Compassionate and patientcentered approach to care.
  • Physical ability to lift and move patients as required.
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts including nights and weekends.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and lifelong learning.
  • Knowledge of infection control protocols and safety procedures.
