Overview
As an IB PYP Homeroom Teacher for Grades 35 you will play a vital role in delivering a holistic and inquirydriven education to students in the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP). Your contribution will be instrumental in shaping students attitudes knowledge and skills by implementing the IB PYP framework.
Key responsibilities
- Plan prepare and deliver engaging differentiated lessons aligned with the IB PYP curriculum framework.
- Facilitate inquirybased learning experiences that foster students critical thinking and problemsolving skills.
- Establish and maintain a nurturing inclusive classroom environment that promotes active participation and mutual respect among students.
- Implement assessment strategies to track students progress and provide timely constructive feedback to support their learning.
- Collaborate with other educators to integrate transdisciplinary themes and concepts into the curriculum promoting a holistic approach to learning.
- Embrace and support the IB learner profile attributes nurturing students development as caring principled and openminded individuals.
- Communicate effectively with students parents and colleagues fostering a partnership that supports student learning and wellbeing.
- Integrate technology and realworld experiences to enhance learning and make it relevant to students lives.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to continually enhance your understanding of IB PYP pedagogy and best practices.
- Contribute to schoolwide initiatives and events actively engaging in the broader school community.
Required qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Education or relevant field; Teaching Certification is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience in delivering the IB PYP curriculum to Grades 35 students with a strong understanding of the IB framework.
- A passion for inquirybased studentcentered teaching and a commitment to fostering a love for lifelong learning.
- Proven ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students including those with varying abilities and language backgrounds.
- Excellent classroom management skills with the ability to create a supportive respectful and inclusive learning environment.
- Proficiency in using formative and summative assessment tools to monitor student progress and inform instructional decisions.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with students parents and colleagues.
- Commitment to ongoing professional growth including participation in IB workshops and opportunities for continuous learning.
- Knowledge and experience in applying innovative teaching strategies including the integration of technology and realworld connections into the curriculum.
