Job Description: IB PYP Spanish Teacher
Overview
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement engaging Spanish lessons that align with the IB PYP framework.
- Facilitate inquirybased learning opportunities for students to explore language and culture.
- Assess and evaluate student progress using a variety of formative and summative assessment strategies.
- Create a positive classroom environment that encourages collaboration and respect among students.
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate language and cultural education across the curriculum.
- Develop and adapt curriculum resources to meet the diverse needs of learners.
- Communicate effectively with students parents and colleagues about student progress and classroom activities.
- Foster a love for learning and curiosity in students through creative teaching methods.
- Encourage cultural exchange and appreciation of Hispanic heritage through extracurricular activities.
- Stay updated on best practices in language instruction and IB PYP developments.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices.
- Implement classroom management strategies for a productive learning environment.
- Differentiate instruction based on individual learning styles and proficiency levels.
- Use technology effectively to enhance language learning experiences.
- Guide students in exploring and developing their language skills through various media.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with students and their families.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Education Spanish or a related field.
- Teaching certification recognized in India.
- Experience teaching Spanish at the primary level preferably within the IB PYP framework.
- Fluency in Spanish with strong oral and written communication skills.
- Deep understanding of IB PYP philosophy and educational practices.
- Proven experience in curriculum design and development for young learners.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience utilizing technology in the classroom for language instruction.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Commitment to professional growth and continuous learning.
- Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and experience working with diverse populations.
- Strength in classroom management and a passion for student engagement.
- Willingness to participate in extracurricular activities related to language and culture.
- Previous experience in an international or multicultural educational setting is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with an attention to detail.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing educational environments and tasks.
