Overview
The AV Editor plays a critical role in the postproduction process of audiovisual projects ensuring that raw footage is transformed into polished final products that align with the creative vision of the organization. Based in Mumbai the AV Editor works closely with directors producers and other team members to understand project goals and develop content that engages and resonates with the intended audience. This position demands a blend of technical expertise in editing software and a strong sense of narrative structure allowing the editor to craft compelling stories that captivate viewers. Key Responsibilities
- Edit audiovisual content to create engaging and highquality video materials.
- Collaborate with directors and producers to understand project requirements and goals.
- Review and log footage to identify key scenes and moments for editing.
- Use editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro to assemble and refine footage.
- Incorporate sound effects music and dialogue into the final edit to enhance storytelling.
- Apply color grading techniques to improve the visual appeal of the video.
- Ensure continuity and coherence throughout edited sequences.
- Adhere to project deadlines and manage multiple editing tasks simultaneously.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in editing technology.
- Provide constructive feedback to peers and accept critique to enhance own work.
- Maintain organized files and project archives for easy access and retrieval.
- Work effectively in a team environment communicating openly with various departments.
- Prepare final edits for review and approval making necessary adjustments based on feedback.
- Assist in implementing best practices for video content production and editing.
- Participate in creative brainstorming sessions to generate innovative ideas for content.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Film Video Production or a related field.
- Proven experience as a video editor or similar role.
- Proficiency in video editing software including Adobe Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro.
- Strong portfolio showcasing diverse editing styles and techniques.
- Knowledge of sound design and audio editing principles.
- Familiarity with color correction and grading tools.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a strong sense of storytelling.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Creative mindset with a passion for visual storytelling.
- Understanding of video production workflows and best practices.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools and technologies.
- Experience with motion graphics and animation is a plus.
- Ability to maintain highquality standards throughout the editing process.
