Job Description

Director of Convention Sales Malta

About the Role:

Our client a prestigious 5star hotel in Malta is seeking a highly motivated and resultsoriented Director of Convention Sales to join their team. Reporting directly to the Cluster Director of Sales and Marketing you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our clients conference and convention services ensuring exceptional guest experiences while maximizing revenue and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Leadership: Drive revenue growth through strategic sales initiatives exceeding established targets for group and convention bookings.
  • Team Management: Lead mentor and motivate a highperforming team of conference and events professionals fostering a collaborative and resultsdriven environment.
  • Client Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with key corporate clients event planners and travel agencies providing exceptional service and exceeding their expectations.
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee all aspects of event operations including planning coordination and execution of successful conferences and meetings.
  • Financial Performance: Develop and manage budgets forecasts and key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure profitability and maximize revenue.
  • Market Expertise: Stay abreast of industry trends competitive landscapes and emerging market opportunities.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate and secure profitable contracts with clients ensuring alignment with hotel policies and maximizing revenue.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of proven success in MICE within the hospitality industry.
  • Experience in an International 5star hospitality environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with a proven ability to motivate and inspire teams.
  • Excellent communication interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills.
  • Proficiency in using CRM systems sales platforms (e.g. Cvent) and event management tools.
  • A passion for delivering exceptional customer service and exceeding guest expectations.
