Role Description
This is a fulltime remote role for a Medical Virtual Assistant at a U.S.based healthcare organization. The Medical Virtual Assistant will provide administrative and clerical support to healthcare professionals ensuring seamless patient management and operational efficiency. This role involves handling patient communications managing medical records and scheduling while maintaining a high standard of confidentiality and professionalism.
Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in a medical or healthcare administrative role.
- Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems such as Kareo Athenahealth or similar.
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology procedures and healthcare workflows.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Google Workspace and other administrative tools.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Experience with insurance verification and billing is a plus.
Responsibilities
Administrative Support:
- Schedule and manage appointments for healthcare professionals and patients.
- Organize and update patient records in EHR systems.
Patient Communication:
- Handle patient inquiries via phone email or chat ensuring timely and accurate responses.
- Provide reminders for appointments and followups.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Transcribe medical notes and maintain accurate documentation.
- Assist in preparing reports and maintaining compliance with healthcare standards.
Billing & Insurance Support:
- Verify patient insurance details and assist with billing inquiries.
- Process claims and follow up on pending reimbursements when required.
Operational Efficiency:
- Coordinate with labs pharmacies and other healthcare entities to ensure smooth service delivery.
- Support healthcare professionals with research and data preparation.
Compensation
- $800 $1500 per month paid in USD depending on experience and expertise.
Preferred Requirements
- Familiarity with U.S. healthcare systems HIPAA regulations and best practices for handling patient data.
