Job Description
Job Title: Senior Data Migration and Conversion Specialist
Location: Philadelphia Pennsylvania
Duration: 12 Months
Client: Philadelphia Gas Works
Job Overview:
- We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Migration and Conversion Specialist to lead the data cleansing and migration efforts for transitioning from the existing BCCS system to a new Customer Information System (CIS) platform.
- The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in data migration have a strong analytical background and be wellversed in handling legacy data formats.
- This role is critical in ensuring that data integrity is maintained throughout the migration process and in resolving any datarelated issues that arise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop Data Cleaning and Extraction Scripts: Create and execute complex data scripts to clean extract transform and load (ETL) data from the BCCS platform into the new CIS platform.
- Data Quality Assurance: Identify and resolve data issues including inaccuracies inconsistencies or corrupt data ensuring all data meets quality standards before migration.
- Data Validation and Integrity Checks: Perform validation on cleansed data to ensure completeness and accuracy throughout the migration process.
- Data Conversion Planning: collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to define and document data conversion strategies timelines and dependencies.
- Troubleshoot and Resolve Issues: analyze and troubleshoot datarelated problems during the migration and provide solutions on time.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of the data migration processes procedures and transformation rules.
- Legacy Data Integration: Utilize experience in Oracle/HPUX to extract and integrate legacy data into modern CIS solutions.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Experience: 7 years of experience in data migration and cleansing preferably in CIS applications or similar largescale enterprise systems.
- Technical Expertise: Strong experience in data scripting data transformation and working with legacy data formats.
- Database Skills: proficiency in Oracle databases and familiarity with HPUX operating systems.
- ProblemSolving Skills: Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities with a focus on data integrity and quality.
- Communication and Collaboration: Excellent documentation skills and the ability to work effectively with crossfunctional teams.
- Knowledge of Modern CIS Solutions: Prior experience integrating legacy data with contemporary CIS platforms is highly desirable.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with ETL tools and data migration frameworks.
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements related to data handling.
- Experience in utility industry or customer information systems (CIS) migration projects.
