Description:Core Responsibilities:
Being accountable for all Operational and Maintenance activities performance health
safety and environment (HSE) at assigned solar plants
Maintaining compliance with all company policies procedures contractual requirements
(e.g. interconnection Agreement PPA lease agreement etc.) and ensures compliance
with environmental standards and applicable governmental regulations.
Responsible for the development of longrange maintenance plans for major equipment
based on sound engineering practices and OEM recommendations for the plant life
cycle.
Drafting and providing input on the development of the annual budget and longterm
plans.
Completion of facility reporting requirements including HSE budgeting and plant
performance.
Oversee daily weekly monthly and annual internal and external reporting of operational
performance and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Lead regular meetings with assigned plants to review and manage HSE O and amp;amp;M spending
and maintenance needs.
Lead the use and management of the computerized maintenance management system
(CMMS) for all O and amp;amp;M work done and pending and parts used so that accurate records
can be maintained for future use.
Develop monitor analyze and report against performance metrics and analyze and amp;amp;
identify issues impacting operational performance and recommend actions for
continuous improvement to ensure operational financial targets are met.
Manage spare parts inventories and make recommendations if deficiencies are
identified.
Step by step troubleshooting with technicians O and amp;amp;M Contractors and subcontractors
and formulate solutions in realtime.
Launch RFP and negotiate contracts such as vegetation management snow removal
removal and reinstallation of plants repairs and capital improvement projects.
Lead all operations and maintenance supplier relationships including but not limited to
craft labor maintenance services specialized services and qualified repair companies.
Coordinate with engineering support team when in need of additional
troubleshooting/diagnostic assistance and perform root cause analysis
Perform warranty management
Support the insurance program and claims management
Review and approve expenses provided by third party contractors
Review future project designs for O and amp;amp;M assessment and feedback.
Provide feedback to the Director of Technical Asset Management and other functional
groups on O and amp;amp;M Contractors EPC and OEMs performance highlights and areas for
improvement.
Responsible for the integration of new sites developed or acquired and leads all
aspects of all integration activities to ensure complete integration and handover from
Construction and through acquisition. This includes acting as the operations
representative in development projects planning for construction handover by ordering
spare parts preparing and furnishing O and amp;amp;M buildings/warehouse responsible in the
hiring of O and amp;amp;M Contractors and the management and oversight of onboarding process
from a technical point of view.
Participating in Business Development efforts as an Operations SME in due diligence
efforts assessment of target plant conditions assessment of risk on target plants O and amp;amp;M
cost estimations and recommendations on major risks identified.
Implementing appropriate change recommendations of company leadership team.
Maintaining and improving relationships with community groups and residents to
understand concerns and liaison with O and amp;amp;M Contractor on issues.
Share lessons learned with Project Management and amp;amp; Engineering/EPC.
Setting high and challenging productivity and quality standards for self and work group;
encourages new ideas and work methods to lower costs and increase efficiency quality
and safety.
Recruit select train evaluate performance and manage plant operating maintenance
and O and amp;amp;M staff.
Qualifications and Experience :
Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Degree or advanced trade certificate. Will consider
other related operational experience with significant plant O and amp;amp;M management.
Minimum of 56 years experience in operations and maintenance in power generation
transmission and/or distribution including at least 3 years in the solar industry with P and amp;amp;L
responsibility. Distributed generation and utility scale strongly preferred.
Background and understanding of MV/HV substations preferred.
Able to make competent and prompt decisions in emergency situations without
perfect/complete information.
Ability to use and manage work within CMMS.
Capable of writing operating procedures work requests and purchase requisitions.
Demonstrates the ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings electrical onelines
logic drawings technical manuals and instrument drawings.
Excellent communication skills a high level of organization and being detail oriented.
Must be able to work crossfunctionally with contractors suppliers and internal teams.
Able to understand and apply the big picture and corporate objectives to their specific
situation.
Proficient use of all Microsoft Office Suite programs manage department network
directory/folders and experience using DAS systems such as AlsoEnergy PowerFactors
and other OEMs DAS.
Able to take initiative and work independently with limited guidance. Preference for a
candidate with a strong desire to learn and grow.
The work will require irregular work hours depending upon the required response of site
operations to address the unpredictable needs of the solar plant.
Is a strong team player and willing to assist others when necessary and appropriate
Experience in the operation and maintenance of battery energy storage systems is a
plus.
