Overview:
The Factory Medical Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring the health and wellbeing of employees within the Chemical industry as a Third Party role. They are responsible for overseeing the medical facilities onsite providing immediate care in case of emergencies and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing and overseeing the onsite medical facilities and resources
- Responding to medical emergencies and providing immediate care
- Conducting regular health checkups and assessments for the employees
- Managing and maintaining medical records and reports
- Collaborating with the management and HR for employee health programs
- Providing medical consultation and advice on occupational health hazards
- Implementing health and safety protocols and procedures
- Training and educating employees on health and safety practices
- Participating in the investigation of workplace accidents or illnesses
- Preparing and conducting medical emergency drills and trainings
- Ensuring compliance with local state and federal health regulations
- Assisting in the development and implementation of health policies and programs
- Coordinating with external healthcare providers for specialized treatments
- Participating in the selection and procurement of medical supplies and equipment
- Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in all medical matters
Required Qualifications:
- Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from an accredited institution
- Valid and active medical license in the relevant state or country
- Previous experience in occupational health or industrial medicine
- Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Knowledge of industrial hygiene and toxicology
- Ability to work in a dynamic and highpressure environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Sound understanding of regulatory requirements for medical facilities
- Capability to work effectively in a team environment
- Proficient in using medical equipment and tools
- Strong problemsolving and decisionmaking abilities
- Understanding of confidentiality and ethics in a medical setting
- Willingness to update knowledge through continuous learning and development
- Adherence to the highest standards of medical and ethical conduct
- Flexibility to respond to emergencies outside of regular working hours
