Job Description

Overview:

The Factory Medical Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring the health and wellbeing of employees within the Chemical industry as a Third Party role. They are responsible for overseeing the medical facilities onsite providing immediate care in case of emergencies and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing and overseeing the onsite medical facilities and resources
  • Responding to medical emergencies and providing immediate care
  • Conducting regular health checkups and assessments for the employees
  • Managing and maintaining medical records and reports
  • Collaborating with the management and HR for employee health programs
  • Providing medical consultation and advice on occupational health hazards
  • Implementing health and safety protocols and procedures
  • Training and educating employees on health and safety practices
  • Participating in the investigation of workplace accidents or illnesses
  • Preparing and conducting medical emergency drills and trainings
  • Ensuring compliance with local state and federal health regulations
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of health policies and programs
  • Coordinating with external healthcare providers for specialized treatments
  • Participating in the selection and procurement of medical supplies and equipment
  • Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in all medical matters

Required Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from an accredited institution
  • Valid and active medical license in the relevant state or country
  • Previous experience in occupational health or industrial medicine
  • Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Knowledge of industrial hygiene and toxicology
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and highpressure environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Sound understanding of regulatory requirements for medical facilities
  • Capability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Proficient in using medical equipment and tools
  • Strong problemsolving and decisionmaking abilities
  • Understanding of confidentiality and ethics in a medical setting
  • Willingness to update knowledge through continuous learning and development
  • Adherence to the highest standards of medical and ethical conduct
  • Flexibility to respond to emergencies outside of regular working hours
