Accounting Director

Job Summary:

The Director of Accounting will be responsible for overseeing all accounting functions within the organization ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting and implementing effective financial controls. This role requires a deep understanding of the agriculture and manufacturing sectors with the ability to manage complex financial operations drive process improvements and provide strategic financial guidance to senior management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the accounting department overseeing general ledger accounts payable accounts receivable payroll and financial reporting functions.
• Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and company policies.
• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting function.
• Oversee monthend quarterend and yearend close processes including the preparation and review of balance sheets income statements and cash flow statements.
• Manage and monitor the budgeting and forecasting processes providing accurate and timely financial information to support business decisionmaking.
• Ensure compliance with all federal state and local tax regulations including the preparation and filing of tax returns.
• Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to support business operations including inventory management cost accounting and production planning.
• Lead the preparation for internal and external audits ensuring timely and accurate responses to auditor inquiries.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with banks auditors and other financial institutions.
• Provide financial analysis and insights to senior management supporting strategic planning and business growth initiatives.
• Monitor and manage cash flow working capital and capital expenditures to optimize the companys financial position.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the accounting function leveraging technology and best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Mentor and develop the accounting team fostering a culture of high performance and professional growth.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
• CPA or CMA strongly preferred.
• 810 years of progressive accounting experience with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the agriculture or manufacturing industry.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP financial reporting and tax regulations.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP Oracle) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex financial operations in a manufacturing environment including cost accounting and inventory management.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills with a track record of building and developing highperforming teams.
• Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with senior management and crossfunctional teams.
• Ability to thrive in a fastpaced dynamic environment managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Experience with financial planning budgeting and forecasting in a manufacturing context is highly desirable.
