Job Description

Job Title: VP of Investment Accounting Financial Reporting

Job Location: Chesterfield MO

Job Type: Full Time

Position Overview: The VP of Investment Accounting Financial Reporting leads and manages all aspects of financial reporting for investment accounting covering various asset classes such as bonds mortgage loans lifetime mortgages and alternative assets. This role ensures compliance with US GAAP US STAT IFRS and Solvency II reporting standards across multiple legal entities. The VP collaborates on the strategic direction of the Investment Accounting function in alignment with the companys overall strategy and ensures effective coordination with other departments to meet corporate objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the preparation and delivery of financial statements disclosures and analyses ensuring highquality investment accounting practices.
  • Support the development and achievement of department goals and implement Global Finance strategies.
  • Initiate and lead projects aimed at improving process efficiency financial reporting quality and strengthening internal controls.
  • Enhance and manage investment accounting technology tools for better data consolidation analysis and reporting.
  • Collaborate with seniorlevel investment personnel to align investment accounting with company goals and operational needs.
  • Oversee integration efforts for new business opportunities acquisitions and due diligence related to investments.
  • Coordinate communication with external advisors and local accounting offices to ensure accurate reporting of investment risks and data exchange.
  • Perform management duties including hiring training and mentoring staff while fostering a positive work environment.
  • Work with other functional areas to ensure efficient accounting practices and respond to inquiries from various departments.
  • Collaborate with Finance leadership to develop goals plans and budgets that align with company objectives.

Requirements:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience.
  • 12 years of accounting or auditing experience including at least 5 years in investment accounting with Statutory and GAAP knowledge.
  • 10 years of management experience.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficiency in Word Excel and SQL/Query tools.
  • Advanced knowledge of business practices investment accounting and GAAP/statutory requirements.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to mentor and develop teams.
  • Expert analytical problemsolving and decisionmaking abilities.
  • Highly effective communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to translate complex business concepts.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple teams and initiatives.
  • Expertise in customer relationship and change management.
  • Strong persuasion and negotiation skills in working with internal and external stakeholders.
