Job Description
A nonprofit organization is seeking to hire an Accounting Manager. This person does not need to have previous managerial experience. In this seat you will start out mostly owning monthend close and overseeing the AP/AR ledgers. Down the road you will oversee 23 operational accountants. The ideal candidate has nonprofit industry experience has 3 years of relevant accounting experience and has ideally used Solomon and/or Dynamics accounting software (highly preferred but not required).
Duties:
- Process Prevailing Wage Payroll through ADP
- Process Certified Payroll reports for Govt projects
- Manage all Account Receivables and Account Payables
- Process Monthly AIA requisitions with Government Authorities
- Monthly Bank reconciliations of multiple bank accounts
- Conduct regular balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
- Monitor and review general ledger accounts to ensure proper recording of transactions
- Prepare and review journal entries debits and credits
- Coordinate and assist with external audits
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to provide financial analysis and support for business decisions
Requirements
Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
Minimum of 7 years of experience in corporate accounting or related field
Proficiency in Solomon and/or Dynamics
Strong communication skills both written and verbal
Ability to work independently as well as collaborate effectively with crossfunctional teams
