Purpose of the role:
The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of housekeeping operations to maintain a clean sanitary and comfortable environment for hotel guests and staff. This role includes managing the housekeeping team ensuring all rooms and public areas meet the hotels high standards and coordinating with other departments.
Your responsibilities will be:
- Supervise and manage the housekeeping team to ensure cleanliness standards are met or exceeded.
- Develop and implement cleaning schedules procedures and protocols.
- Train motivate and evaluate housekeeping staff to maintain high performance and morale.
- Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies linen orders uniforms minibar and equipment ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Maintain an overview of daily occupancy arrivals and departures and key guests inhouse.
- Conduct daily inspections of guest rooms and public areas to ensure standards are maintained.
- Spotcheck stayover and vacant rooms to guarantee the highest service standards.
- Oversee the receiving checking and delivery of guest laundry with attention to detail.
- Handle guest requests and complaints promptly and professionally.
- Record guest history and update the system accordingly.
- Expedite special guest requests such as extra pillows blankets towels or amenities.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure overall guest satisfaction.
- Prepare reports on housekeeping activities budgets and performance metrics.
- Ensure that all lost and found items are handled according to company policy.
- Maintain positive guest and colleague interactions and foster good working relationships.
What we expect from you:
- Proven experience as a Housekeeping Manager or in a similar role within a boutique or luxury hotel.
- Excellent leadership organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals equipment and health and safety regulations.
- Customeroriented approach with a passion for delivering exceptional service.
- Proficiency in English at a conversational level.
- Team player with excellent communication skills.
