IB MYP Grades 9 -10 Spanish Teacher

Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach Spanish language and literature to students in Grades 9 10 following the IB MYP curriculum.
• Implement effective and engaging instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
• Develop and deliver wellstructured lesson plans that align with the IB MYP objectives.
• Assess and evaluate students language proficiency and academic progress using varied assessment tools.
• Collaborate with colleagues to integrate interdisciplinary approaches and promote internationalmindedness.
• Participate in curriculum development including the creation of authentic learning opportunities.
• Provide timely feedback and support to students to enhance their language acquisition skills.
• Support and guide students in their personal academic and emotional development.
• Communicate effectively with parents colleagues and administration regarding students progress and wellbeing.
• Participate in and contribute to professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices.
• Adhere to school policies and procedures including those related to student welfare and safety.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Spanish Education or related field.
• Teaching certification or licensure in Spanish language education.
• Demonstrated experience teaching Spanish at the secondary level preferably with the IB MYP program.
• Deep understanding of the IB MYP framework and its principles of teaching and learning.
• Ability to integrate technology and resources effectively into language instruction.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students parents and colleagues.
• Proven ability to differentiate instruction and support diverse learners in a multicultural setting.
• Passion for fostering internationalmindedness and promoting crosscultural understanding.
• Commitment to ongoing professional growth and staying updated on best practices in language education.
• Fluency in Spanish with a high level of proficiency in spoken and written communication.
