Job Description

Overview:

The Middle School IGCSE French Teacher for Grades 410 plays a crucial role in providing highquality education and fostering language proficiency among the students. The teacher will be responsible for designing and implementing an effective curriculum facilitating engaging learning experiences and assessing students progress in French language acquisition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement lesson plans in accordance with the IGCSE French curriculum.
  • Facilitate interactive and creative learning activities to enhance students language skills.
  • Assess students language proficiency and provide constructive feedback.
  • Monitor and manage classroom dynamics to ensure a conducive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate language learning across various subjects.
  • Participate in parentteacher meetings to discuss students progress and areas for improvement.
  • Contribute to the development of assessment tools and evaluation criteria.
  • Stay updated with best practices in language education and integrate them into teaching methods.
  • Supervise and support students in extracurricular activities related to French language and culture.
  • Keep detailed records of students performance and maintain effective communication with parents.
  • Organize and oversee cultural exchanges or immersion experiences for students.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive classroom environment for all students.
  • Contribute to the overall academic and cultural development of the institution.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to students in their language learning journey.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Education French or a related field.
  • Teaching certification or licensure for Middle School level.
  • Demonstrated fluency in French and a solid understanding of the IGCSE curriculum.
  • Proven experience in teaching French to students in Grades 410.
  • Strong knowledge of language acquisition theories and teaching methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create engaging and interactive learning materials.
  • Experience in curriculum development and lesson planning.
  • Sound classroom management skills and ability to create a positive learning environment.
  • Understanding of the developmental stages of language acquisition in middle school students.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Familiarity with assessment tools such as oral proficiency interviews and written exams.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and growth in the field of education.
  • Flexibility to work in a dynamic and multicultural educational setting.
