About Yusudi
We are a sales talent marketplace on a mission to find and grow in their sales careers. We do this through matching them to available jobs in commercial organizations and we also improve their skills to enable them to excel. We have three business lines:
  • We run a sales academy with the goal of helping graduates improve their sales skills and thereafter match them to sales opportunities in partner companies.
  • We have a sales development service that works with organizations to help the sales teams improve their selling and sales leadership skills.
  • We offer recruitment services to help commercial teams find and hire exceptional talent.
Overarching all the services is the Africa Sales Community where we bring salespeople together, offering them a platform to network and share experiences.

Yusudi was launched in 2016 and to date, we have worked with 500+ companies and engaged with thousands of professionals looking to build their sales careers. We are excited about sales and have a profound belief that selling should be an exciting, positive and ful lling experience for both parties.

We are growing quickly, and we re now looking for exceptional Business Development Executives to be part of our business development team.

Job Purpose
You are to plan and coordinate business development activities. You will report to the Business Development Lead of Yusudi. This is primarily a new business position and so your role will be to help to build our client base by recognizing new business prospects and selling our services to them.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Be part of the sales team: You will be part of a new team of salespeople driving the end-to-end sales conversations at Yusudi. You will be involved in OKR and KPI setting and execution for yourself and accountable to your team members through weekly check-ins and review of the CRM activities.
  • Deliver on sales: You will be responsible for independently executing the end-to-end sales process from prospecting to closing.
  • Fanatical Prospecting: The priority of your time will be to keep your funnel full, you will spend at least 50% of your day prospecting to ensure your funnel never dries up. This will include research and cold calling, networking or social selling - this will depend on your individual superpower.
  • Sales Cadence: The devil is in the follow-up, you will determine and build your sequence of touchpoints with a prospect that tries to establish a connection for an engagement or a sale. This will involve you working with the marketing team to coordinate across a number of channels (such as email, events, phone, social media and so on).
  • Client Success: You will be expected to keep a close eye on new clients for the first three months of the sales to ensure we deliver on the promises we made and subsequently leverage the relationship to get referrals.
  • Using data to inform decisions: You will be required to make data-informed decisions to drive sales by tracking and analyzing your sales statistics based on key quantitative metrics. You will also use this data to report weekly to the Lead on key metrics.
  • Working closely with marketing: We believe in account-based marketing to help us find the right clients and so you will continuously interface with the marketing team to help us reach and work with high-value accounts by personalizing the buyer s journey and tailoring all communications, content, and campaigns to those specific accounts.

Requirements

Skills & Competencies and Previous Experience
  • You have at least 3 years of sales experience, it will be a plus if you have sold talent or student services during that time.
  • You have worked with a CRM(s) before and believe in its power to organize the selling process.
  • You are predominantly a hunter with an emphasis on a challenger approach to help buyers make the right decisions.
  • You should ideally have hit 50% of your sales quota consistently over the last 3 years. Stuff happens and so if you have not, you should be able to demonstrate what you can do differently given another chance.
  • You are passionate and hungry for learning, you should have a list of your favourite sales books, podcasts and channels.
  • You have demonstrable experience in organizing and prioritizing multiple tasks based on shifting priorities.
  • You love tinkering with different tech tools and have believed in the power of data-driven decision-making.
  • You have superb verbal and written communication skills with the ability to write proper business emails, communicate over the phone and use your skills to help clients make the best decisions in relation to their sales talent needs.
  • You are hyper-organized and fanatical about putting in place weekly systems/rituals to manage the sales process.
  • B2B selling experience is preferred but can be overlooked if you are open-minded and curious enough to learn.
