Job Description
Our Banking client is looking to hire an experienced Full Time Senior Accountant :
Responsibilities:
- Capital support;
- Current Expected Credit Loss,
- BOLI,
- Taxes and
- Financial and regulatory reporting;
Typical Duties:
CECL & Allowance for credit losses (ACL):
- Participate in the ACL reserve process, including funded, unfunded (off balance sheet), investments and providing supporting documentation as required (i.e. memos). Revise policies and process docs
- Familiar with / knowledgeable of Economic drivers, ability to intrepid and explain impact they will have on reserve
- Validation of SOX controls
- Perform analysis of changes in the ACL period to period
- Prepare monthly general ledger entry
- Monthly reconciliations and reporting of charge-offs and recoveries
- Generate schedules and disclosures for financial and regulatory reporting
- Prepare related presentations and memos for management
- Investigate any differences to GL
- Reconcile/Document Loans HFS, Document loan sale information
- Reconcile/Document Non-Accrual Loans, TDRs (modifications), Impairments
Taxes:
- Review Tax filings
- Process quarterly tax payments
- Oversee year-end tax document processing
BOLI (Bank-Owned Life Insurance) accounting:
- Monthly BOLI J/E's & reconciliation to Oracle G/L
- Properly account for any claims activity
- Periodic analytical support and BOD reporting
IDB Capital Corp. support:
- Backup to monthly, quarterly, & annual financial statements, analytical, & regulatory filings
- Assist with monthly check deposits, fee income recording & accounts reconciliations (manual)
- Assist with monthly expense entries (accruals and amortizations)
- Back-up on daily bank reconciliations as needed
Additional :
- Month-end close process
- Financial footnotes and Regulatory schedules
- Perform other / ad hoc responsibilities as assigned
- Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in Accounting or Finance, MBA and or CPA preferred
- Minimum 6-10 years of progressively responsible experience i.e. banking/Allowance for credit loss/Tax experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of general ledger systems, including preparation and approval of GL entries, month-end close process and results analysis
- Responsible, flexible individual with strong mathematical and analytical skills and an extensive knowledge of all aspects of accounting, in general and specifically as applied to financial institutions.
- Possess strong analytical and communication skills
- Knowledge of Economic drivers and familiar as to how they will impact the reserve short-term and long-term
- Proficient in Excel
- Willingness to take on special projects as they arise
- Ability to work individually or in a collaborative environment and meet tight deadlines
