Crop Accountant

Job Description:

We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Crop Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in accounting with specific experience in the agricultural sector. This role involves managing financial records related to crop production processing payments and generating accurate financial reports.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain precise and current financial records for crop production activities.
• Process payments to suppliers ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports related to crop accounts.
• Reconcile bank statements and crop accounts.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable specific to crop transactions.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting for crop operations.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with the finance team to enhance processes and improve financial controls.
• Provide financial support and guidance to farm managers addressing any questions or concerns.
• Conduct periodic audits and reviews of crop accounts.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
• CPA or equivalent certification is a plus.
• Minimum of 35 years of accounting experience preferably in the agricultural industry.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks Sage Famous etc.) and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills.
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
