The Opportunity
The Commercial and Contracts Senior Analyst is a pivotal role within the organisation responsible for leading the development negotiation and management of contracts and commercial agreements. This senior position requires advanced analytical skills strategic thinking and extensive experience in contract management. The Senior Analyst will work closely with senior management and various departments to ensure that all contractual and commercial activities align with the companys goals and legal requirements.
Responsibilities
Contract Management and Negotiation:
Lead the drafting review and negotiation of complex contracts and agreements (for vendor customer partners suppliers onsellers and commercial)
Ensure all contracts meet legal regulatory and company standards.
Oversee the maintenance of an organised system of physical and digital contract records.
Risk Management:
Identify assess and mitigate potential risks associated with contracts and commercial agreements.
Provide expert advice on risk management strategies and develop risk assessment reports.
Compliance and Governance:
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws regulations and internal policies.
Monitor and enforce adherence to contractual terms and conditions.
Set up and run governance meetings with vendors as required.
Financial and Commercial Analysis:
Conduct indepth financial analysis of contracts including cost estimates pricing models and budget impacts.
Provide financial forecasts variance analyses and reports related to contractual agreements.
Develop and implement commercial strategies to enhance profitability and efficiency.
Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration:
Serve as the primary point of contact for senior management on all contractual matters.
Collaborate with legal finance procurement project management and other teams to facilitate contract execution and resolve issues.
Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Strategic Planning and Implementation:
Contribute to strategic planning initiatives by providing insights on market trends competitive analysis and commercial opportunities.
Support the preparation of business proposals bids and tenders.
Lead or participate in crossfunctional projects to drive process improvements and best practices.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
Monitor supplier and vendor performance against contract terms and take corrective actions as needed.
Conduct regular audits and reviews of contractual agreements to ensure optimal performance and compliance.
Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior leadership on contract status performance and risks.
Requirements
Education:
Bachelor s degree in Business Administration Law Finance or a related field. A master s degree or professional certification (e.g. CIPS IACCM) is highly preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 57 years of experience in contract management commercial analysis or a related field.
Demonstrated experience in negotiating and managing highvalue and complex contracts.
Skills:
Advanced analytical and problemsolving skills.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in contract management software and advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word Excel PowerPoint).
Experience analysing and drawing insights from data
Strong project management and organizational abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines.
