Job Description

Sportradars newly founded Sports Virtualisation unit develops innovative and disruptive technology to enable the transition from traditional sports media consumption to new ways to engage with sports. The latest computer vision technology is key to allow realtime rendering of statistics and virtual ads on top of broadcasts. It also enables the use of skeletal tracking data to render virtual recreations of sports events and transform the way they are experienced. Together with the top leagues and federations around the globe we are working on our vision for a range of products to increase fan engagement for the world of tomorrow.. 

We are looking for you to fill the role of Senior Software Developer (m/f/d) to join our team of talented Java developers and 2D/3D artists to create engaging products using Unreal Engine 5.3 / 5.4 and Java backend technologies. Through the availability of skeletal tracking data of live sports events completely new products can be produced which use game engine technology in nonstandard ways. Generating live streams from a cloudbased setup by transforming and distributing live skeletal tracking data to be used to create interactive virtual matches or highquality clips. 

THE CHALLENGE:

  • Support our international team of Java developers and designers in exciting projects as well as do maintenance and stabilization of running systems 
  • Assisting in designing and architecting backend systems with a focus on scalability performance and security.
  • Generalize functionality into modules that can be reused in multiple/future sports virtualization products. 
  • In projects you plan and develop new features together with the team with Java C or other programming languages. 
  • Write test and maintain code following coding standards and best practices and share knowledge and experience with the rest of the team
  • Support and guide junior developers and nondeveloper members of the team 

YOUR PROFILE:

  • A Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Excellent knowledge of objectoriented programming languages like Java
  • Previous proven experience as a software developer either professionally or in personal projects preferably in the game development industry
  • Familiarity with cloud services databases and server management tools essential for modern gaming infrastructure.
  • Interest in or experience with Game Engines (Unreal/Unity)
  • Ability to effectively communicate with technical and nontechnical team members
  • The extension of complex and performanceoptimized software challenges you
  • For you strong teamwork and communication skills are not just empty phrases

  • You have a good command of written and spoken English
