Job Description
The Senior Environmental Scientist/Industrial Hygienist performs professional environmental consulting services for a wide range of industrial maritime and commercial clients. The work requires a professional knowledge of the principles methods and techniques of environmental science industrial hygiene and occupational safety. An understanding and the ability to utilize pertinent aspects of chemistry biological sciences and public health that pertain to environmental remediation projects involving lead asbestos mold and other contaminants. The ability to recognize and evaluate health hazards associated with catastrophic loss to property caused by storms and flooding and the environmental health and safety impacts related to chemical releases and oil spills.
Job Responsibilities
- Apply professional environmental science competence with specialized knowledge of chemistry industrial hygiene and biological science. Perform as a team member to resolve client EH&S concerns as necessary and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Willing and able to travel by air sea and land at short notice to reach project locations.
- Obtain and maintain licenses in multiple states for mold lead and asbestos assessments.
- Performs work as a team member under the direction of a Project Manager.
- Performs work on any number of projects at various stages of completion.
- Prepares studies and reports following standard format and procedures.
- Investigate measure and evaluate environmental health and safety conditions at client locations and carrying out relevant research development planning to complete comprehensive reports for review by senior staff.

Qualifications :
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Science Engineering Geology or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in industrial hygiene with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects
- Strong proficiency in microsoft software
- Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and guide crossfunctional teams
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills both verbal and written
- Demonstrated expertise in risk management and problemsolving
- Strong analytical and financial management skills including budget oversight and cost control
- Proficiency in both Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies
- Exceptional stakeholder management and client relationship skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong business acumen and strategic thinking capabilities
- Adaptability and willingness to travel as required for project needs
- Valid drivers license
Physical and Mental Job Qualifications
- The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Sitting is limited to lunch breaks and driving.
- A number of duties are performed on feet.
- Walking for long periods on many different terrains that could range from flat to hilly or rough and slippery.
- Able to carry equipment as much as 40 lbs. unassisted.
- Must be able to use hands and fingers to pick up objects turn on regulators insert earplugs and use hand tools.
- Push or pull items.
- Able to reach above head.
- Able to bend at the knees.
- Able to climb ladders to reach high areas or down into tanks or excavations.
- Able to wear a selfcontained breathing apparatus and perform required job duties at the same time.
- Able to squat kneel or crouch in confined spaces when necessary.
- Vision must be correctable to at least 20:40 with the ability to distinguish colors with good depth perception and peripheral vision.
This is a fulltime salaried position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; however flexible hours are required to complete job tasks in some circumstances. This position can require rapid response due to chemical or weatherrelated emergencies outside of normal business hours; travel out of town as needed and weekend work may be involved where necessary.
Travel
Travel is primarily local but can also be regional or national depending on the project or need. Rapid response to client emergencies and overnight travel is sometimes required.

A reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role is $90000 $140000 per year. Any offered salary range is based on a wide array of factors including but not limited to skillset experience training location the scope of the role management responsibility etc.
