Job Description
We are looking for a Junior Accountant to join our clients dynamic team. The selected candidate would need to have a solid knowledge of accounting practices and would be prepared to support the Financial Controller in reporting statements and guiding team members.
ABOUT OUR CLIENT
Our client is a company that offers a versatile environment featuring student housing above a vibrant public Piazza and is located in Msida.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with general ledger entries accounts payable and receivable processing.
- Prepare and file VAT returns ensuring compliance with relevant tax regulations.
- Monitor VAT deadlines and resolve discrepancies.
- Reconcile bank accounts and maintain accurate financial records.
- Support the preparation of financial reports and statements.
- Supervise and guide other team members ensuring accuracy and compliance with policies.
- Assist in monthend and yearend closing activities.
- Provide support during audits by preparing required documentation.
- Other adhoc reporting may be required.
EXPERIENCE KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar role will be considered an asset.
- Analytical and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills particularly in English.
- Able to build customer relationships and ensure good communication.
EDUCATION
Be in possession of a degree in Accounting or in process of obtaining the ACCA.
WORKING TIME
Monday through Friday from 08:00 to 17:00 40 hours per week.
