JOB SUMMARY
The Finance and Compliance Officer is responsible for overseeing financial operations and ensuring organizational adherence to regulatory and legal requirements. This role involves managing financial records implementing compliance protocols and providing strategic advice to support the organizations financial health and regulatory integrity. The ideal candidate is detailoriented analytical and adept at balancing financial management with compliance responsibilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Finance Management
Manage daytoday financial operations including accounts payable/receivable budgeting and payroll.
Prepare accurate financial statements reports and forecasts for management review.
Monitor cash flow financial planning and cost control to optimize resource allocation.
Compliance Oversight
Develop and maintain compliance policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements.
Ensure compliance with local national and industryspecific financial regulations (e.g. tax laws antimoney laundering).
Conduct internal audits to identify and mitigate compliance risks.
Risk Management
Identify financial and compliance risks and recommend mitigating strategies.
Monitor changes in laws regulations and industry standards to ensure continued compliance.
Develop and maintain a risk management framework for financial and compliance operations.
Stakeholder Engagement
Act as a liaison between the organization and regulatory authorities.
Provide guidance and training to employees on compliance and financial protocols.
Communicate effectively with senior management on financial performance and compliance issues.
Policy Development and Implementation
Develop update and enforce internal financial and compliance policies.
Ensure that policies are welldocumented accessible and communicated
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor s degree in Finance Accounting Business Administration or a related field (Master s preferred).
Certifications such as ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) or compliance certification are highly desirable.
Minimum 5 years of experience in finance & compliance in an insurance or financial sector.
Proven experience with financial reporting auditing and regulatory compliance.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
Strong knowledge of financial management principles and regulatory requirements.
Proficiency in accounting software and financial analysis tools.
Familiarity with compliance frameworks policies and procedures is an advantage.
Ability to use the Insurance Brokerage Software would be an added advantage
Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with diverse teams.
