You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Team Leader will be responsible for the day to day clinical activities of the screening programme ensuring robust failsafe processes screening and grading capacity management of service staff and oversight of the workforce training accreditation and competency and strategic and operational management of the nominated Diabetic Eye Screening Programme(s). This will involve working with and across a wide range of stakeholder organisations. The post holder will ensure the programme is delivered in line with national standards providing an excellent screening service with the ultimate aim of reducing new blindness due to diabetic retinopathy.
Qualifications :
Must have experience in the optical field
Must have management experience
Minimum of Leaving Certificate or equivalent.
Must hold at least 2 years experience in Diabetic Retinopathy Screening and Grading with experience of grading at both primary and secondary level or equivalent.
We want to be sure that you are set for success so these are the key skills we are looking for;
Management experience including performance management of teams and individuals alongside an experience of working within diabetic eye screening healthcare or other people/patient focused services.
They will need to show initiative and the ability to prioritise tasks and to use problem solving skills on a daily basis largely unsupervised sometimes under pressure. Also an openness to consulting with line managers at all times.
Be able to use good effective communication skills both written and oral within a multidisciplinary team at all levels and with diabetic patients in a calm sensitive and reassuring way. As well as the ability to work successfully across professional organisations and with a multitude of stakeholders
The post holder must be IT literate with experience of using bespoke screening database software and a knowledge of information governance
The responsibility for the supervision of other clinical/clerical staff within the programme.
Must be willing to participate and evidence continuing professional development (CPD)
Additional Information :
Proficiency in Irish language and or any other language is desirable.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate a preexisting right to work and travel within the EU. Documentary evidence will be required.
A full driving licence and preferably your own transport to travel to and from health centres GP practices and other places of work within the programme area.
All offers are subject to satisfactory vetting and reference checks. Depending on the nature of the role Garda Vetting may also be required.
