Job Description

This is a remote position.

The Intermediate Accountant will play a vital role in preparing financial reports and tax returns ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and supporting clients business goals. Working closely with our senior accountant client administrator and the founder this role is the perfect opportunity for someone who has a solid accounting background looking to further develop their skills in a professional and supportive environment.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES:

    Prepare financial statements tax returns and activity statements (BAS/IAS) for individuals partnerships trusts and companies in line with Australian tax laws.

    Reconcile bank accounts accounts payable accounts receivable and GST.

    Process and manage payroll and superannuation ensuring compliance with Australian regulations.

    Prepare cash flow forecasts budgets and other financial reports as required.

    Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency in accounting workflows.

    Ensure all client files are accurate uptodate and meet compliance requirements.

    Communicate with clients and the Australian team regarding queries missing documents and deadlines.

    Maintains and builds a supportive and effective team culture.

    Upholds and promotes the firm s values.

    Maintains the highest ethical and professional standards.



Requirements

SKILLS:

    Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

    Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.

    Detailoriented with a strong focus on accuracy and problemsolving.

    Proactive and adaptable in a fastpaced professional environment.

    Strong knowledge of Australian income tax laws and compliance requirements.

    Proficiency in interpreting and applying Australian tax regulations to a variety of business entities and individuals.

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE:

    At least 3 years experience in AU Accounting with a prior role in business services highly desireable.

    Familiarity with Australian tax laws and compliance requirements.

    Intermediate skills with XERO and QuickBooks Online.

Minimum 3 years experience in an accounts assistant role within a law firm Experience in Practice Evolve or similar legal software system Experience in legal professional services Proficient in Excel/spreadsheets
