Dayton Childrens is looking for an Emergency Medicine(Pediatrics) for a Locum Role starting in March!
Job Description:
Reason for Coverage: Providers Out on Leave
Dates of Coverage: March 2025
Percent (%) of Total Hospital Admissions Received from ED: 81%
Percent (%) of ED Patients Admitted to the Hospital per Day: 12%
Percent (%) of ED Patients Transferred per Day: .002%
Trauma Level/Designation: Level I
Total Number of Beds: 59 beds
Annual ER Volume: 101692
Number of ED Physicians in Group: 23
Fast track in ED: Yes
Fast Track Staffed by MD or APP: Both
Percent (%) of Total ED Volume Treated by Fast Track: 40%
Will the Locum Physician be Required to Supervise Other Health Care Providers: Yes APP and Residents
Documentation System/EMR: EPIC
Does ED Staff Respond to House Codes: No
Does ED Staff Respond to House Codes: No
Who Writes Admission Orders If ED Physician Indicate Process for Transition to Accepting Physicians: ED Physicians/ED Residents. Writes admission orders only. ARD Admission Residents on Duty Writes all care order

Ambulance Response Time & Travel Referral Facility: CH has NICU ACLS Transport team. DCH transport covers 27 counties in Ohio. Local EMS will transport patients from scene.
Air Ambulance Response Time & Travel Time to Referral Center:
DCH does not have air ambulance. Miami Valley Hospital will transport patients to DCH based on trauma acuity.

Description of Consultants: Radiologist Critical Care Intensivist Cardiologist Pulmonologist Gastroenterologist Neurologist Urologist Hematologist / Oncologist Psychiatrist
Who does EKG Interpretations: Initially ED MD then reviewed by Cardiology
Estimated Credentialing Timeframe: Minimum 60 days
Facility Reimburse for the Following Costs: Flight lodging and car rental OR mileage. Local candidate highly preferred
Requirement description : MUST NOTATE ALL IN THE NAME CLEARS
- Board Certified or Board Eligible(within 5 years of residency)/(ABEM/AOBEM) Required
- PALS/ATLS/BLS Required
- Active OH license Required (will accept providers willing to obtain)
