Job Description
Our client is a private sector led Tier 1 Microfinance Bank that provides a versatile range of financial services to lowincome groups micro small and medium enterprises selfemployed with entrepreneurial skills. Due to expansion they are currently in need of a HEAD CREDIT RISK.
Role Overview:
The Head of Credit Risk will oversee the Bank s risk management framework ensuring robust policies governance and control systems to identify evaluate mitigate and monitor operational strategic and external risks.
Job Description:
- Develop and implement risk management policies and frameworks in alignment with corporate goals.
- Oversee internal controls and review independent assurance activities by auditors.
- Identify evaluate and mitigate operational strategic and external risks.
- Monitor risk practices prepare independent assessments and ensure accurate risk disclosures.
- Collaborate with the Risk Committee to manage organizationlevel risks.
- Lead the formulation and deployment of risk policies and strategies.
- Manage and mentor the Credit Risk team to meet departmental goals.
Requirements
- A Bachelor s degree in Banking Finance Economics Risk Management or a related field.
- A professional certification in risk management compliance or corporate governance (e.g. PRM CRM FRM or related) is an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of risk management principles frameworks and tools.
- Excellent knowledge of corporate governance and regulatory requirements.
- Analytical and problemsolving mindset with a keen eye for detail.
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage multiple stakeholders.
- Strong communication and reporting skills with the ability to present complex information effectively.
- High ethical standards and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Proven experience in project management within the banking. Strong understanding of commercial banking products, services, and regulatory requirements. Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Asana, Jira) and financial tracking systems.
Education
Bachelor s degree in Business, Finance, Project Management, or any relevant field (MBA or PMP certification is a plus).
