Job Description

My client a leading hypermarket retail business in the FMCG sector is looking for a Head of Category Management to define and implement their commercial and category strategy to drive revenue growth profitability and customer satisfaction.

This role will oversee product selection pricing promotions supplier relationships and merchandising strategies across multiple categories ensuring alignment with business objectives and market trends. The role reports directly to the CEO.


Other key responsibilities include:
  • Develop and implement a robust commercial strategy aligned with business objectives and market trends.
  • Drive innovation in product offerings pricing and promotions to maintain market leadership.
  • Lead the annual business planning process setting sales targets and growth strategies.
  • Monitor and analyse market trends consumer behaviour and competitive activity to drive datadriven decisions.
  • Define and implement category plans that align with consumer demand sales performance and profitability goals.
  • Oversee pricing promotions and merchandising strategies to enhance sales and customer experience.
  • Ensure category profitability through effective cost management supplier negotiations and inventory control.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to develop promotional campaigns that drive traffic and conversion.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors to secure the best commercial terms.
  • Lead highlevel negotiations for pricing rebates and strategic partnerships.
  • Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement in quality service and delivery.
  • Develop competitive pricing strategies that balance profitability with market competitiveness.
  • Oversee promotional planning ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer engagement strategies.
  • Collaborate with supply chain teams to optimize stock levels reduce waste and improve product availability
  • Lead and develop the commercial and category management team fostering a highperformance culture.
  • Set clear objectives monitor performance and drive accountability across the team.
  • Collaborate with other senior executives to align commercial strategies with overall business goals.


Requirements

  • Bachelor s degree in Business Marketing Retail Management or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • 1015 years of experience in retail FMCG or related industries with at least 7 years in a senior commercial/category management role.
  • Proven track record in strategic commercial leadership supplier negotiations and revenue growth.
  • Strong analytical financial and business acumen.
  • Experience in omnichannel retail ecommerce and digital transformation is a plus.
  • Excellent leadership stakeholder management and decisionmaking skills
