Job Overview:
Our client seeks to appoint an experienced and dedicated individual to join their School Management Team as
a Head of Department for the Intermediate Phase. The ideal candidate will work closely with the
principal be able to work independently and requires minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead curriculum planning and implementation to ensure that all teaching practices align with the educational standards and objectives.
Develop and monitor effective assessment strategies to evaluate learners progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
Interpret and apply policies related to assessments CAPS and ATP to ensure compliance and facilitate optimal learning outcomes.
Collaborate closely with the principal and other school leaders to foster a cohesive and supportive educational environment.
Provide guidance and support to teaching staff within the department promoting professional development and continuous improvement.
Liaise with parents guardians and the wider educational community to enhance learners engagement and school reputation.
Qualifications and Skills:
Holds a Bachelor of Education (BEd) degree in Intermediate Phase.
SACE registered.
Minimum of 3 years school management experience or a similar role.
Proven ability to communicate effectively in both English and Afrikaans facilitating interactions with a diverse school community.
Strong leadership and organisational skills with a focus on driving educational excellence.
Ability to work collaboratively and build positive relationships with staff and stakeholders.
Computer literate and excellent time management skills.
Good Interpersonal People Emotional Intelligence Skills
