Tooling and Automation Engineer Development
Who Youll Work With
Collaboration Technology Group (CTG) is the technology tower that owns develops and supports the Webex suite of products UCMC Webex Calling DI Webex MT and Contact Center.
We are looking for an experienced Ansible Automation Engineer to join our automation team. As an Ansible expert you will design implement and maintain automation workflows to optimize our IT infrastructure. You will be responsible for developing and enhancing automation solutions to streamline operations reduce manual interventions and ensure efficient system management.
Who You Are
You will work closely with system administrators DevOps engineers cloud architects and other IT infrastructure teams. Collaboration with development security and network teams is essential to ensure automation is aligned with organizational goals. You will also interact with various stakeholders across departments to gather requirements address issues and provide automation expertise.
What Youll Do
Design implement and maintain automated processes using Ansible to improve system performance efficiency and scalability.
Develop playbooks roles and modules in Ansible to automate provisioning configuration management and orchestration across environments.
Collaborate with IT teams to identify automation opportunities and design solutions that streamline routine tasks and operations.
Ensure all automation processes are robust secure and adhere to best practices.
Continuously improve existing Ansible automation infrastructure by implementing new features refactoring code and updating documentation.
Integrate Ansible with other automation tools (CI/CD pipelines cloud management platforms etc.).
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Ansible automation in a timely and efficient manner.
Provide technical guidance and training to team members on Ansible automation practices.
Regular sync up with the stake holders to understand the business need.
Owning the root cause analysis process and ensure remediation of major issues.
Develop and maintain a working knowledge of existing and new technologies and be able to tie the design and implementation of infrastructure to the managed components.
Work with design & engineering teams to understand product and project requirements.
Perform an advanced Troubleshooting and Diagnosis of Complex Issues
Provide input to continuous improvement and process change suggestions.
Required Technical Skills/Qualifications
Strong handson experience with Ansible for automation orchestration and configuration management.
Strong Python programming skills including experience in developing automation scripts APIs and integrations.
Expertise in writing Ansible playbooks roles and custom modules.
Proficient in Linux/Unix system administration including networking security and shell scripting.
Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) principles and tools.
Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and integrating Ansible with other automation tools (e.g. Jenkins GitLab).
Familiarity with cloud platforms and automating cloud infrastructure using Ansible.
Solid troubleshooting skills in a complex multienvironment IT infrastructure.
Preferred Technical Skills/ Qualifications
Experience with other automation tools like Puppet Chef or Terraform.
Advanced Python development skills including objectoriented programming writing REST APIs and handling complex data structures.
Knowledge of Python frameworks such as Flask or Django for building automation services and APIs.
Familiarity with Docker Kubernetes and container orchestration platforms.
Knowledge of version control systems (Git) and best practices in software development and automation workflows.
ITIL certification or similar industry certifications related to automation Python development or DevOps.
Knowledge of Cisco product portfolio including Collaboration Networking Datacenter Security
