The HR Manager will provide a broad range of Human Resources functions at the regional level. Responsibilities described below will include organizational development and training recruitment policy interpretation and administration employee relations compensation benefits and worklife balance to ensure maximum effectiveness of the Human Resources function.
Main Responsibilities
- Assists in assessing training needs and counsel leaders and employees about developmental training opportunities.
- In conjunction with Regional Management leads the organizational plan for client groups including developing/updating job descriptions job specific skill and competency levels and developmental/promotional opportunities.
- Develops and conducts training for employees and leaders regarding human resources issues. Conducts in new employee orientation.
- Assists in the development of HR policies.
- Provides information and advice to Regional Manager supervisors and employees to maintain compliance with employment laws.
- Collaborates with the divisional and Barrett HR team to share in knowledge and expertise.
- Leads all aspects of the performance and development plans process.
- Assists client group leaders in identifying documenting and communication results and deficiencies in employee performance.
- Assists managers with disciplinary procedures and corresponding documentation.
- Acts as a mediator in facilitating resolution.
- Acts as the liaison between company and Union.
- Assists in negotiations with Director of Labor Relations.
- Effectively administers the compensation and benefit changes and transactions including compensation increases promotions transfers demotion termination benefit enrollment and leaves of absence administration.
- Collaborates with the Safety Specialist on Workers Compensation claims.
Education
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration/Human Resource Management or related field.
- Demonstrated ability in steering an HR function for over 5 years.
Required Skills
- Experience managing a union workforce is preferred.
