Job Description

About the Construction Team:
We are partnered with a Tier 2 Commercial Builder known for delivering innovative and high-quality projects across a wide range of sectors, including commercial, industrial, educational, healthcare, and retail. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Contract Administrator. You will play a key role in managing contracts across a diverse portfolio of commercial construction projects, ensuring compliance, cost control, and contract performance. This role requires strong commercial acumen, attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the preparation, review, and negotiation of subcontractor agreements and contracts.
  • Manage variations, progress claims, and extensions of time (EOT) to ensure project budgets and timelines are met.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager to monitor project costs, margins, and forecasts.
  • Maintain accurate records of contract administration, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and project requirements.
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to resolve contract-related issues.
  • Conduct regular reviews of contract performance, identifying risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure contract documentation is maintained, accurate, and up-to-date.
Key Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Contract Administration within Commercial Construction.
  • Proven experience working with Tier 2 builders on commercial projects ranging from $10M to $100M.
  • Strong understanding of contract law, construction contracts (e.g., AS2124, AS4000), and relevant regulations.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, Aconex, Cheops, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
