JOB DESCRIPTION FOR A FINANCE AND ACCOUNTING SUPPORT OFFICER
Responsibilities as a Finance and Accounting Support Officer:
Provide support in the preparation of the statutory monthly financial report
Monthly accounts reconciliations
ist with journal entries as required
ist with the preparation and coordination of Council s annual budget including ociated doentation as well as revised budgets during the financial year
ist with the preparation of Council s annual financial statements in accordance with all statutory financial reporting obligations and comply with all relevant / current accounting standards.
et capitalisation
ist in reviewing et accounting in relation to et capitalisations disposals and writeoffs
Review and update finance policies as required
Grants audit
Prepare/review accounting and acquittal statements (if applicable)
Diesel Fuel Rebate Claim
Business Activity Statement (BAS)
Fringe Benefit Tax (FBT) return (if applicable)
Write procedure manuals for the position
Undertake projects and tasks within scope of knowledge ss and abilities as required
Any other duties as requested by the principal
Qualifications as a Finance and Accounting Support Officer:
At least 1 year of Local / International Accounting Work Experience.
Degree in accounting or related field preferred.
A basic understanding or experience in finance and administration duties including but not limited to Accounts Payable Payroll Accounts Receivable Records Management General ledger and job or project costing
Required knowledge of Microsoft products such as excel word presentation slides etc.
Basic ss in oral and written English Communication
Knowledge of elished work practices and procedures
Understanding of basic computing concepts
A motivated and energetic approach with the desire to drive continuous improvements.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy ability to identify errors.
Excellent problemsolving ss
