Our client a leading automotive company is seeking a Project Quality Manager to oversee quality management and customer relations for igned projects. This position is based in Japan and focuses on ensuring that all quality deliverables and objectives are met throughout the development process.
Mission:
- Quality Management: Ensure risk management for the project by identifying and avoiding unnecessary risks related to design and process. Ensure all customer quality deliverables are met.
- Customer Interface: Serve as the main point of contact for qualityrelated issues in the development phase of igned projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Quality Management:
- Detect and prevent potential risks.
- Respond quickly to identified risks and escalate to top management as necessary.
- Design & Change Management:
- Ensure new product and process elements are included in DFMEA PFMEA DV&PV.
- Verify the use of lessons learned to reduce risk priority numbers (RPN) in D/P FMEA.
- Ensure adherence to the 4M matrix for product/process changes and communicate these changes to customers for approval.
- Update quality doents after product or process changes.
- Participate in design reviews including reviews with suppliers and tool makers.
- Revise control plans following any issues or test results.
- Supplier Management:
- Support supplier quality management for internal and external parts collaborating with the Purchasing and SQA teams.
- Collect supplier feedback and integrate best practices.
- Prototype & Production Trials:
- Define control plans for prototype preserial and serial production.
- Ensure alignment between special characteristics FMEA and control plans.
- Prepare Initial Sample files for internal validation and customer signoff.
- QRQC (Quick Response Quality Control):
- Participate in project QRQC meetings and ensure proper application of QRQC rules.
- Manage project issues and ensure compliance with stopatfirstdisagree and stopatfirstno rules.
- Initiate a VIM incident in case of test failures.
- Customer Communication:
- Manage quality events and inspections during the project launch phase.
- Oversee all shipment quality inspections and doentation before delivery to the customer.
