The company wishes to employ a Product Manager who will be responsible for the products acquisition pricing storage sales distribution and profits of the VCIC division. (Various Consumable Interventional Cardiology Division)
The successful candidate will be based in Johannesburg and report to the National Product Executive
Clinical Product Specialist
- Being highly proficient and knowledgeable on his/her product range and the clinical factors associated with these products
- Providing end user product application assistance
- Conducting product and application training with the sales team and as required the end users.
- Sourcing comprehensive literature to support his/her product range
- Sourcing product and manufacturer certification for validation requirements
- Product Strategist and Performance Tracker
FOR NEW PRODUCTS AND RANGE EXPANSION
The Product Manager needs to apply forward vision when considering new products
FOR EXISTING PRODUCTS
- The PM needs to strategize for maximum product market effect with the highest sales and GP amount to be realized.
- Provide ongoing viability assessments for existing ranges being sold
- Develop a National product strategy or business plan
- International and Local Supplier Relations
- The Product Manager is expected to participate in the relationship with a Supplier actively
- Developing a good working relationship with the Supplier contact/s.
- Actively participating in the establishment revision and renewal of the Distribution agreement
- Aid and assist the MD in regards to the finalization of agency agreement
- Negotiating the product acquisition price to ensure optimal viability of a specific product
Key account and client management
- The Product Manager is expected to participate in the management actively and service of Key accounts and clients.
- Cotraveller and sales support
- The Product Manager is expected to cotravel with the sales teams regionally. He/she should cotravel in each region on a regular basis.
- Effective communication
- The PM needs to facilitate open channels of communication between all individuals in the product lifeline. The sharing of knowledge experience successes and challenges are vital to optimally grow any product base
Marketing The Product Manager is responsible for overseeing the marketing material and activities associated with the products in his/her product portfolio.
Export The Product Manager should actively support areas of export growth as required.
Stock Controller The Product Manager is ultimately responsible for the overall stock holding situation and associated cost of his/her products.
Administration
- The construction of price files and pricing structures
- Adhere to the private group new product load processes
- Assist with Quotations
- Assist and or submit with Tender and Contract submissions
Motivator The Product Manager is expected to be a motivated high caliber individual who understands the business expectations and requirements.
He/she should be a good team player leading by example in terms of time commitment product knowledge and sales focus.
The PM should be approachable easily contactable and proficient in resolving client sales team and logistic queries associated with his/her products.
Requirements
Qualification and requirements:
- Matric / Diploma in Business management or similar
- At least three (3) years progressively responsible experience in Product Management including experience or training in supervision or any equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position
- Extensive knowledge of warehouse operations ; working knowledge of modern policies and practices of supervision; thorough knowledge of ordering receiving storing inventorying issuing and shipping systems and methods.
- South African citizen
- Own vehicle and driver s license
