Role Summary
The Brand & Reputation team at Google in SubSaharan Africa (SSA) is seeking an experienced and strategic Product Marketing Manager (L5) to lead initiatives that strengthen Google's brand and support small and medium business (SMB) development across the region. The role will focus on driving awareness engagement and impact for flagship programs such as Hustle Academy and AI Connect.
Key Responsibilities
- Hustle Academy:
- Lead the development and execution of the gotomarket strategy.
- Define the Hustle Academy brand narrative and messaging framework.
- Drive participant recruitment and engagement through innovative campaigns.
- Secure and manage partnerships to scale program impact.
- Implement measurement frameworks to track performance and provide insights.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to ensure alignment and success.
- AI Connect and Google for Africa:
- Colead the development of the marketing strategy for AI Connect.
- Manage communication and logistics for the event.
- Conduct postevent analysis to measure performance and inform future initiatives.
- Key Opinion Former (KOF) Initiatives:
- Partner with GAPP to implement KOF engagement strategies.
- Design and execute targeted marketing campaigns for KOF voices.
- Build and manage relationships with crossfunctional teams.
- Thought Leadership & Market Insights:
- Provide market insights and thought leadership on industry trends.
- Identify opportunities to enhance Google's brand presence.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing Communications or a related field.
- 8 years of experience in product marketing brand management or related roles.
Desired Experience
- BCom degree in a related field is preferred.
- Deep understanding of the SSA market including digital landscape and consumer behavior.
- Experience influencing senior stakeholders both internal and external.
- Strong analytical datadriven decisionmaking skills.
- Excellent communication interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Fluency in English and at least one other major language spoken in SSA is a plus.
