Job Title: Assistant Nurse Manager Labor & Delivery (L&D)

Salary: $186000 $267200 per year
Bonuses: 10% signon bonus; 7.5% annual bonuses

Essential Responsibilities: - Daytoday Operations: Manage clinical operations including practice standards staffing payroll budgets fiscal management and quality improvement in compliance with federal state and local regulations. Ensure the highest quality of patient care.
- Leadership & Staff Development: Oversee a unit with 2060 employees focusing on staff development and supervision. Develop and implement action plans to improve staff performance and patient outcomes.
- Resource Management: Continuously monitor personnel allocation based on patient needs to optimize care delivery and identify costsaving opportunities.
- Risk & Quality Management: Supervise daily unit operations including human resources safety programs risk management and quality assurance. Maintain responsibility for patient care quality within the unit.
- Patient Care Coordination: Work with healthcare providers outside of the unit to achieve seamless optimal patient care across the continuum. Investigate and resolve patient/family concerns related to care.
- Best Practices: Research and implement best practices from other units to improve patient care.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Oversee L&D postpartum and Level 2 NICU units.
Basic Qualifications: - Experience:
- Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience required.
- Minimum of two (2) years in a leadership role (e.g. Charge Nurse Preceptor or Quality Improvement Champion).
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; High school diploma or GED required.
- Licenses/Certifications:
- California Registered Nurse (RN) License required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at hire.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required.
Additional Requirements:
- Completion of training as a Preceptor or Charge Nurse.
- Strong knowledge of the Nursing Practice Act The Joint Commission and other regulatory requirements.
- Proven skills in quality improvement clinical care delivery staffing and budgeting.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
Preferred Qualifications: - Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) strongly preferred.
- Certifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
- Preferred Skills: Experience or advanced degrees such as a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) are desirable.
