Job Description
Overview:
As an OT Technician specializing in Laparoscopy Surgery you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the operating room during laparoscopic procedures. Your attention to detail and knowledge of surgical equipment will be paramount in delivering highquality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain laparoscopy surgical equipment
- Assist in setting up the operating room for laparoscopic procedures
- Follow sterilization protocols for all instruments and equipment
- Provide technical assistance to the surgical team during procedures
- Monitor and document patient vitals during surgery
- Participate in ensuring a safe and clean environment in the operating room
- Respond effectively to emergency situations in the operating room
- Coordinate with various healthcare professionals for efficient patient care
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards
- Contribute to inventory management and stock control
- Assist in patient transfer and positioning for laparoscopic procedures
- Participate in the training and orientation of new staff members
- Adhere to ethical and professional standards at all times
Required Qualifications:
- Associate degree in surgical technology or related field
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist
- Minimum of 2 years experience as an OT Technician in laparoscopy surgery
- Proficiency in handling and maintaining laparoscopic instruments
- Knowledge of sterilization techniques and infection control measures
- Strong understanding of surgical procedures and protocols
- Ability to remain calm and focused in highpressure situations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Adherence to confidentiality and patient privacy regulations
- Physical stamina and dexterity to assist in lifting and positioning patients
- Uptodate knowledge of advances in laparoscopy technology
- Willingness to work flexible hours and be on call when necessary
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and education
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Sound decisionmaking and critical thinking abilities
