Job Summary:
This position provides administrative and surgery scheduling support for the operating room and leadership team.
Job Expectations: - Deliver exceptional customer service over the phone to patients other Fairview entities departments and others.
- Communicate accurate information regarding surgical procedures adhering to established processes to support operating room operations.
- Place work orders for broken equipment.
- Assist customers with questions related to addon procedures and other surgicalrelated inquiries.
- Take accurate phone messages and forward them to the appropriate person for resolution.
- Maintain a positive and helpful tone when assisting callers.
Surgical Procedure Scheduling:
- Schedule surgical procedures daily using EPIC the electronic health record system.
- Communicate with all staff involved in preparing and performing surgeries.
- Ensure thorough communication with the charge nurse.
- Respond to basic requests as assigned.
Additional Administrative Support:
- Assist in gathering information completing forms and performing other tasks as needed.
Organization Expectations: Minimum Qualifications: Required:
- Experience: At least 1 year of experience in customer service front desk department assistance or a related field.
- Strong communication skills in person by phone and via email.
- Ability to learn and use various computer systems.
Preferred:
- Experience: Experience with EPIC Excellion or similar EMR systems.
- Healthcare experience.
- Familiarity with medical terminology.
