Job Description

Company Overview: Our client a leading correctional facility based in Orlando FL dedicated to maintaining a secure and humane environment while enhancing public safety while seeking professional and committed individuals.

Position Summary: We are looking for a qualified candidate that possesses the proficiency in specimen collection data entry and administrative tasks along with a completion of a vocational Medical Assistant training program to join their team.

Job type: Onsite


Position Responsibilities:

Prepare patients for medical exams and treatments.

Conduct routine intake procedures including taking vital signs and completing form preparations.

Document all patient interactions and data in medical records.

Assist in the collection labeling and processing of specimens.

Administer first aid and minor treatments as directed by a nurse or physician.

Perform phlebotomy services and document TB test results.

Handle data entry patient scheduling and collection of statistics for census and services.

Answer telephone calls take messages and communicate effectively with the medical team regarding patient care.

Attend mandatory inservice training and education sessions.

Provide support with routine clinic tasks and perform other related duties as assigned.


Required Experience and Education:

  • Satisfactory completion of a vocational Medical Assistant training program.
  • Must be able to work a variety of shifts; including nights and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in direct patient care and/or in a correctional environment.
  • Proficiency in computer use and medical data management.


Knowledge of:

  • Routine medical procedures and technical treatments.
  • Specimen collection and processing techniques.
  • Data entry and medical record documentation.
  • Phlebotomy practices and first aid administration.
  • Basic clinic operations and patient interaction protocols.

Assists with the issuance of permits, inspections, and plan submittal processes. Communicates and interacts effectively assisting customers in person and by telephone with policy and procedure associated with obtaining and completing building permits and/or fire system permits. Reviews applications for completeness and compliance with departmental requirements. Resolves customer s problems and refers complex problems to supervisor as needed. Sorts and inputs inspection schedules and results. Accepts plans and checks required seals, signatures, soil reports, documented calculations, cost estimates, and/or fire protection system permits. Stamps and routes plans. Implements zoning regulations in the review of all types of development permits such as commercial, residential, and signage. Provides excellent customer service both personally and by telephone. Resolves complex zoning problems that require detailed analysis of site and architectural documents
